Kimchi Haru direct translates to English as the “kimchi everyday”. While most people think that only Koreans can eat Kimchi everyday due to their culture, the kimchi is actually very beneficial to people of any other natives as well. Kimchi is very rich with all the goodness and benefits to health. With the rich beneficial bacteria content in kimchi, this tasty fermented cabbage not only helps with the digestion but also rich in antioxidant.
The Kimchi Haru is located on the first floor in Subang Jaya SS 15 the wide window pane allows natural light in to the restaurant during the day and provides a great and calm view of street lights while dining during the night. The restaurant is really cossy with simple and warm interior which is pleasantly soothing for the mood to enjoy great food.
Their authentic Korean dishes are not too amazing for I have had better ones. However, they have their signatures which are worth making a trip to them. Their Sizzling kimchi duck serves as ala carte sells at Rm28.80. Thinly sliced juicy smoked duck sizzled on top of kimchi and slices of onion suitable and the dish is suitable for two people. There is option of ordering this as a set meal for either 1 at RM 31.80 or for 2 at RM 34.80. The meal comes with rice, banchan (side dishes) and soup.

Restaurant Kar Heong has been around in SS 14 long enough to be gaining some reputation for their chicken rice, as well as few extended dishes from the chicken rice. Located at one of the shop lot in the SS 14, the shop welcomes customers from both front and back door. The front door is also where they flaunt their freshly steamed chickens and roasted pork. The standard meal offered in the Restaurant Kar Heong is nonetheless the Chicken Rice with optional add on of beansprout. Claimed to be selling the Ipoh beansprout, it is indeed fatter and juicier. Following that is the complimented soup to go with the chicken rice which tasted somewhat a little different from the usual complimentary soup elsewhere. Reason being, they also sell Ipoh Hor Fun which means prawns and prawn wanton would be one of the main ingredients used in this restaurant. As a result of that, the soup also acquires the sweetness and flavour of the prawns when cooking the prawns in the boiling soup. If indeed in love with the soup, they have add ons for the prawn wanton alone. Serves in two sizes (big and small) the prawn wanton is served with some vegetables in it too. This makes a perfect dish to order for sharing as well as for those who don’t fancy chicken rice. Their chicken is nicely done with good taste and flavour but the texture lacks a little when it comes to good steam white chicken. Supposedly the chicken skin already lost the elastic and chewy texture. It is somewhat closer to mushy and soft. But for those who don’t eat the chicken skin, this would not be a turn off.

According to The Kentucky Fried Chicken homepage, the first KFC restaurant was opened in 1973 on Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman. Today there are more than 500 KFC Restaurants nationwide and still counting. Great tasting chicken has become synonymous with KFC; and has been enjoyed by Malaysians ever since. In fact, KFC Malaysia has developed a distinctive Malaysian personality of its own. This is obvious in their menu with things like the hot and spicy chicken. Many still like the authentic original recipe but the hot and spicy chicken is one that wins the heart of most Malaysians. With cultures that develop a spicy palate amongst the Malaysian, the hot and spicy chickens wooed us with their crunchy spicy outer layer and a juicy and tender chicken meat. Since then there has been many innovative and creative recipe every now and then. Some managed to last permanently while the rest are within a limited time only. The cheesy wedges are one of their brilliant side orders. The cheese and mayonnaise sauce on the wedges are delectably amazing. My favourite is always their colonel burger and there is option to have this as a set that comes with a cup of carbonated drink and the cheesy wedges. I also enjoy their drive through and I find one that is most convenient located along the north south highway. Unfortunately, the outlet here does not manage the drive through services anymore. This is quite a disappointment for me but nevertheless, they manage to maintain their consistency and freshness of their food. That still makes them great.

Jom bali is a place I would always visit whenever I do my grocery in Subang. The dishes are not always fabulously amazing but they offer a good and cozy environment for dine in before or after the grocery shopping. This time around, I had the Nasi goreng kampong (fried rice) which is obviously pricier than the usual nasi goreng kampong that is available anywhere else. A nasi goreng kampong for RM 9.90 is consider pricey and expensive but given the air conditioning and comfortable seats, there should not be too much complains. The Cantonese fried mee hoon was palatable, with flavours which is slightly a little too salty for me. the Cantonese fried mee hoon is priced at RM 11.90. After that, I had the Bandung lychee which sells at RM 6.90. The bandung lychee is really impressive as the bandung is really thick with milk, the way that I like it with the sweet syrup of rose fragrant. Also, eat the lychee and the bandung went really well with the lychee. They were really compatible and slight tangy taste from the lychee is so perfectly balanced off with the sweetness from the bandung syrup.

The la boheme is probably one of the earliest chain bakeries which prevailed sometime in the early 90s or so. Operating as the bakery in then the Jaya Jusco (currently known as the Aeon Mall), they have been rather consistent with their buns and pastries all these years. And not to mention throughout the many years of experience, they are perpetually evolving and improving while accommodating to the taste of local palate. Incorporating ingredients made from local and non local flavours, the buns and pastries here at the la boheme certainly meet a certain level of popularity amongst the Malaysians. My favourite since I was a child is always and will always be the pizza bun. I am weirdly attracted to it and would always walk into any la boheme bakery that I pass by to buy one of that. There is nothing too fancy about it, the fact that it was baked as an ordinary bun with sausage and mixed vegetables consisting of carrot, corn and peas. Also some simple chili sauce and the mayonnaise, this combination is the best one could come up with. In the recent years, they have come up with more choices of cakes and sweet desserts of which I have not review.
