Like it or Hate it!

Once we step in the clean and cooling restaurant, I can smell the strong "Ma Lat" smell. Did I like it? Hahha I think NO :-p. "Ma Lat" is Sichuan pepper, a common spice used in Sichuan cuisine that have unique aroma. Unlike other chili, Sichuan Pepper create a strange, numbness in the mouth. This is why I say you either like it or hate it! We order 4 dishes for sharing. The dry version is better than the gravy type dishes because the chili oil gravy is too oily. The chili oil even look scary >..<"

Amongst all, I like the Stir Fried Chicken with Hot Chili most. The small sliced chicken cube is deep fry to perfect with herbs and a lot of dry chili. You can choose the level of spiciness you want but we decided not to take any risk so just remain normal level. It actually not really spicy but somehow after sometimes you feel its burning your stomach, It is so hot but really delicious.

Basically Lucky Sichuan Restaurant can consider a good choice if you are craving for some scrumptious spicy food or have the heart to try out Sichuan cuisine. Located at Dataran Sunway, Kota Damansara, same row with KAYU, the restaurant is undeniable clean and classy with the distinct Chinese ambience and decor.

Here comes another Yakiniku in Kepong!! Authentic BBQ 古早烧烤 serve Yakiniku (Japanese BBQ) in a very simple and traditional way. Grill with a traditional pot of charcoal in an open air restaurant or should I called it a food stall. The concept and food offer here is very similar to the famous Gerai Makan Japanese BBQ 大众烧肉 at Taman Desa.

Here offer every part of meat or offal of Pig, Beef and Lamb that can eaten. The bite-sized raw meat is well prepared and you just grill it once the 'fire' is ready. Very simple and enjoyable.

The credit should go to the sauces. The special homemade Vegetables Sauce is very very delicious. You can marinated to your raw meat and grill it or just dip it. If you want to have a hint of spiciness, just add in the chili flakes. The crispy and slightly charred grill meat will blend nicely with the sauce.

Normally we will wrap our grilled meat with vegetables but here they offer chapati. Just slightly grill the chapati to create some charred effect, wrapped the meat, and add sauce plus lime...yummy yummy!!

Nevertheless, this is a place for adventure eater!! The roadside stall is really hot so if you cannot stand with all the heating coming from all the direction then this definitely a NO NO place to you.

Restaurant Bagan Sekinchan located at the busy street heading to the fishing village and just next to a templer. The restaurant is not big, but it is full house when we patrolling it. So its take ages for us to enjoy our lunch. Just like any other food hunter, we are here for shark meat. Either shark meat porridge or soup but we end up with the latter as sis claim it is too hot for porridge.

Too bad the Lady boss didn't ask us what type of soup we prefer and I thought its only got Tomyum style so end up she give us the Salted Vegetables Tohu Soup. Hmm I am OK but my sis not so like. The tangy and sour soup filled with fresh and tender shark meat, fishball, tohu, tomatoes and few more vegetables. Yummy, lucky this clear version also not bad.

We also try another Sekinchan Signature Dish, Chili Fried Small Prawn. Hmm if not mistaken, I seldom see any small prawn out of Sekinchan. This dish very delicious. Spicy and aromatic! The Deep Fried Salted Egg Mantis Prawn also a thumb up. The crispy Mantis Prawn in the mixture of spicy, savory, with the hint of saltiness. Yummy! Yummy!

We also order the Kong Po Squid. Like their version as the squid is tender and soft. The tangy and spicy gravy go very well with the steam rice. We saw a lot of table order the Superior Broth Lala so our curiosity told us it must be very good. Therefore we add our order. Make it 6 dishes for 3 adult and 1 kid!!! The lala is fresh and clean while the broth is delicious with mild alcohol.

Overall the food is delicious, friendly service and most important very affordable. 6 dishes plus 4 rice and a pot of Chinese tea only cost us around RM80++!!

Unlike other wanton noodle, here you can choose any ingredients to go with your noodles. Once of their famous ingredients is pork ribs but none of us order. I opt for the Mushroom+Sliced Chicken Soup. The springy noodle is nice but the soup is slightly tasteless. The mushroom very nice, not to hard. Just perfect

Located at the commercial area of Kepong Baru, I feel the noodle serve here don't have strong alkaline water taste. I think this is one of the reason they still manage to stand firm in this area after so many years.

DST 大樹下 at Laman Rimbunan, Kepong specialties in serving porridge and Bullfrog (田鸡). At first glance, I thought this is another Chinese Restaurant serving normal Chinese Dishes. But later my friend told me it is serving porridge so as a porridge lover I start plan to pay it a visit.

We order 4 dishes to eat with the plain porridge. Since there is only 3 of us, we order all in small portion. The signature Bullfrog is serve in 3 different cooking style; Kong Po, Brands Steamed and Ginger Onion which we opt for the latter. We order the small pot but it is very little Bull frog. Hmm we should go for the medium size. The small bullfrog had firm meat while the gravy is flavourful and delicious. Anywhere the so little portion @ RM11 really a little bit overprice.

Next we have the Choy Poh (Preserved Vegetables) omelette. This is great. The Choy Poh is flavourful but not overly salty. Then come the Golden Sand Pork Meat. This pork meat is well marinated and deep fry till the skin is crispy while the meat still remain tender and not too dry.

Last but not less, we order the small pot of plain porridge. The small pot is enough for 3 small eater or 2 big eaters. The plain porridge is tasteless in purpose so it can go well with the other dish which is strong tasted.

Overall this is a good place for porridge lover. Good environment with affordable price. DST 大樹下 got few branches around the country.
