"Guess it’s another round of gastronomic journey to titillate our palate again with some Italian cuisine!^^ And here we are, enjoying the air-conditioned and casual environment at Marco’s Pizza ristorante at Taman Emas, which is just opposite of the Kelana Jaya LRT.
More often than not, fettuccine or spaghetti would be our pick whenever pasta is of concerned, or could it be that these are the most offered by the majority restaurant in town? :P Therefore, this time we would like to reshuffle our norm a bit, to try something fresh and new, so we opt for penne to be part of our dining.
Penne A La Royale
Smell some majestic presence huh? :P I suppose the main secret lies in the sauce they used. The penne was done al dente, and then together with mushroom and chicken, tossed in their special Marco’s sauce. Initially I thought the red gravy might just be some ordinary pesto sauce till I sank my teeth into it. There was this piquant taste lingering in my mouth then that reminds me of lamb! I relooked at the menu but there wasn’t stated any lamb ingredients. Thus, we guess there must be some goat cheese added into the pasta sauce that made it such an engaging experience, haha. It was zesty and decently sprinkled with some chopped parsley.
Next to join our table definitely was our not-to-be-missed Marco’s Pizza!
It is the signature pizza, baked with shredded turkey ham, country chicken egg, mozzarella cheese and Napolitano sauce. It had a moderate gooeyness as only one type of cheese being used. I noticed that you could actually differentiate the ingredients layer by layer. It seems like on top of the base was immediately followed by slices of turkey ham on the bed of thin Napolitano sauce, then covered with cheese and egg before sent to the bake oven. In my humble opinion, the taste would be zestier if the ham were to slightly pan fried, so to get the aroma out of it. Nevertheless, still a scrumptious meal :D
To wash down our throat, we have the healthy drinks which go by the name Onana and Mango Ice Blended. The former was pretty cute with its catchy name. Later we found out from the waiter that it’s actually a blend of orange and banana. How on earth it gonna make a good marriage, we were bit sceptical. After one sip, all doubts were cleared and we are already looking forward to making it at home then :D
Ma ma Mia!"
Total spend: RM25.00 per person
