"When walking pass the both at the paradigm mall, the Komugi makes sure one would stop and take a look at the pastries and bread given the strong aroma that waft deliciously within the proximate distance. Offering authentic variety of handmade Japanese breads, cakes and confectioneries their Japanese pastry chefs bake everything daily to ensure the customers getting to enjoy only the freshest delights, all made from premium ingredients flown fresh from Japan. According to the website, their signature creations are Japanese Bread, Hanjuku Cheese, Namachoco Sand, Creamy Custard Krone and Cookie Cream Puffs. With over 150 items to choose from, you can bring home a simple, all-natural, oven-fresh slice of Japan, baked daily for your pleasure. I couldn’t resist the macaroons so I got some and these classic French favourites accomodates Japanese twist from the chefs by making them softer, but just as flavourful. The selection includes Earl Grey, Butterscotch, Mint, Cappucino, Green Tea, Ceylon Apricot, Chocolate, Rose, Taro, Pumpkin, Coconut, Black Pepper, Tahini (White Sesame), Pistachio, Raspberry, Blueberry, Strawberry, Mango, Orange & Blackcurrant, and I do love the texture and I also think that it is really brilliant to accompany these with some tea or coffee."

"Olive Bread
It’s one of the latest addition to its bakeries array at Komugi café. This olive bread is nicely put together with the rest of baguettes in a basket.

The reason why I choose this instead is to actually get the real taste of fresh olive baked with dough. The texture is pretty the same as normal French loaf, which is bit hard and crusty, except that it comes with more olive taste alongside of some oregano herbs mixed in the dough as well. It’s quite savory and aromatic, which I think it’s already pretty good to just enjoy it the way it is. You could also pair it with some omelets to kick start your breakfast.

Charcoal Cube
Another range of the soya bean bread is this Charcoal Cube. It’s as soft as the rest varieties, just that this is of charcoal flavor. It’s has a unique subtle taste for you to discover and the bread itself is soft and fluffy. But for those who are of sweet tooth group, this might not be your best pick then as it’s much plainer for the health conscious folks :D

Butter Sugar Stick
Basically it’s those type of bread that is thoroughly baked till crispy. It could be bit hard and rocky for elderly, but if you dip in milk or coffee to go along, should be fine. As for the younger generation, I think they shouldn’t have any issues :D

The bread stick is actually bit buttery taste and quite toothsome. Just that, you would find lots sugars sprinkled thoroughly on the surface of the pastry. Therefore, if you’re not keen at that much sugary amount, they are easily shake off and then enjoyed. Oh, they are some raisins to accompany by the way :D

Butter Bread
This butter cube is soft and spongy, with some tinge of buttery smell. The portion is just nice and suitable for an individual or two. It’s taste great and just fine eaten that way, or, should you prefer some additional taste, then you could spread some fruit jam on it. Then it’ll strike a balance of both worlds; sweet and slightly salty.

Another range of their soya bread selection is this fresh-looking Pandan Kaya Bread.

I was actually looking for any kaya filling in between, but to no avail. I guess it must be either added in the dough or merely name. The bread is soft and of medium fluffy as compared to its other vibrant peers. It is indeed flavourful with pandan smell but not too sweet. With the subtleness of pandan taste, this is definitely for someone who enjoy less sugary food and of milder taste."

"KOMUGI Japanese bakery in town with better variety, taste and wallet-friendly prices to boot! I know KOMUGI is not new, but it's definitely is my new found eatery place.

Located at the Lot CF55, Level CC of Paradigm Mall, this little outlet is busy and bustling with energy. Trays of freshly baked breads whizzed past us to replenish the fast disappearing displayed loaves.

Customers mulled and picked at the breads, as everything looked delish so it was understandable that is difficult to just pick just a few!

A long queue snaked from the cashier to the back of the store. The cashiers; efficient and friendly, packed customerspurchases with well-oiled competency and I had take away my Cheese Fougasse bread, beside tat there is so much more sample at the outlet.

Give Komugi a try. It is a perfect place to have afternoon tea and you will really be spoil with choices."
